Email Template
1. Text Block Properties
When creating or editing a Text Block, click the collapsed "Properties" section to expand it. Here, you can attach an image that will be displayed to the left of your content, as shown below.
For more information on selecting or uploading images, see Manage Images and Photos.
An image added through the Properties section can also be turned into a clickable link, by entering an address in the URL field (ex. http://www.google.com). This is a useful way to link to any external content that is discussed in the content of your Text Block.
2. Adding Images to a Text Block
You can also add images directly into the content of your Text Block by clicking the "Insert/Edit Image" button on the WYSIWYG Toolbar, as described in this article.
You can use this method to add images that enhance the content of your Text Block, or to simply add an image to your page, without any accompanying text.
3. Redirect a Page
You can add links to other pages on your Profile's "Related Links" sidebar by using The Digital Bell's redirect feature.
Begin by creating a new page, and assigning it to your teacher Profile page's "Section" (ex. Home / Faculty & Staff / Teachers / Ms. Smith). Next, title the page as you would like it to appear in the sidebar, and ensure the "Show in Menus" radio button is set to "Yes."
After entering this information, scroll down and locate the "Redirect to Page" and "Redirect to URL" sections. If you are redirecting to a page within your school's Digital Bell site, such as a school club or athletics page, use the "Redirect to Page" section to locate the page, then click to select it. If you are redirecting to an external site, enter the page's address in the "Redirect to URL" field.
Once you have selected or entered the redirect address, click the "Submit" button on the bottom of the page. A new title and link will now appear in your sidebar. For more detailed information on creating redirects, see Redirecting Links.
4. Add Content Elements to your Page's Sidebar
Along with your "Related Links," you can also add a number of Content Elements to your sidebar, such as Text Blocks, or Link Groups.
Begin be editing your page's content, then select the Content Element you would like to place in your sidebar from the "Add Content" heading. Once you have finished creating your content, click the link labeled "Settings," located in the blue header of your Content Group.
You should now be viewing the "Display Options" tab for your Content Group. In the "Template Placement" section, select the "Sidebar" option, then click the blue "Submit" button. Your new Content Element will now appear on your page's sidebar. This can be combined with the previously discussed Text Block image feature to add a personalized image to your sidebar.
5. FAQs
The FAQ Support Guide tutorial explains how to create an FAQ element, however there are other useful ways to use FAQs.
For instance, if you are creating a class syllabus or an outline for an assignment, you can use the FAQ element to create a table of contents by using the "Question" field to designate individual sections, while placeing the content for that section in the "Answer" field.
By using an FAQ element in this way, your page will display an interactive table of contents at the top, containing links to their respective sections.
