GSL Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of the software that delivers The Digital Bell, HillTop, and Frontrunner services. This release of the software is considered to be an incremental release and contains minor feature improvements and a number of bug fixes.

What You'll Notice As Being Different

  • We've significantly enhanced what can be done with posts. Now these informational items can be treated in similar fashion to website pages. This means that photo galleries and images can be added to posts. Previously images could only be added by inserting them into the text of the post, now images can be added as modules along with the post text module.
  • Teacher reservation form functionality has been made both simpler to use and more useful. Parents who sign up for a conference with the teacher will now get a confirmation email that will contain a link that will allow them to cancel their reservation if their plans change. Once parents have signed up for a teacher's conference, the teacher will now be able to print out a copy of the time slots along with the names of the parents who have signed up. Additionally, an alphabetical list of the parents who have signed up can be printed -- this makes it easier for the teacher to determine which parents will be showing up and which ones will be skipping the conference.
  • Support for a fully functional athletics calendar has been added to each school's web site. This impressive functionality allows all of the sporting events that the school will be participating in to be placed on a single calendar. Once that has been done, the calendar display can be filtered to just show the schedule for specific sport that you are interested in by sport, gender, skill level, etc.
  • A framework has been put into place that will allow the CMS side of the The Digital Bell service to now automatically adjust to match the size of the display that the user is currently using. This functionality has always been available to users of the websites that The Digital Bell generates, now it is available to you when you are making updates to the website.

The Digital Bell and Frontrunner production software will be updated on Thursday, October 23 between 11:00pm - 2:00am. The HillTop production software is planned to be updated on Monday, October 27 between 11:00pm - 2:00am. During this maintenance window customers may experience up to 60 minutes of service interruption during which you will be unable to access the service.
